Earlier this month, I supported a walking football match at Belper Town FC aimed at combatting loneliness in the community. The organisation ‘Silver Sunday’ are leading the campaign for communities to support elderly, vulnerable or lonely people to get out and engage with others in order to combat loneliness.
Belper’s enthusiasm for Silver Sunday has been fantastic, and this weekend we hosted a Silver Sunday film screening at The Ritz, where we were treated to a screening of ‘The Last Bus’.
I am hugely grateful to The Ritz for their support, and to all those who attended and made it a wonderful event. If you would like to be involved in a future Silver Sunday community event, either as an attendee or a host business, please do let me know.
