This week I had a positive and productive meeting with Lord Parkinson, Minister for Arts and Heritage, to talk about the Belper Mills. I was pleased to be joined by @Luke Gardiner for Mid Derbyshire.
I know the local community is eager for something to be done, especially after so long. The truth remains that the current owners have sat by whilst the condition of the site has declined. And learning that owner Tim Knowles recently climbed ten places on the Sunday Times rich list is salt in the wounds for local people.
I look forward to the release of the final Belper Development Masterplan report next month, about which I remain hopeful.
