This week, I welcomed Minister Jane Hunt MP from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy to Belper, to visit the local Post Office and understand the challenges they are facing.
The visit was also attended by senior figures from the Post Office, and we discussed the importance of the branch to the local community, providing not only postal services but also everyday banking, driving licence and passport applications, and travel money.
We discussed these services with the Joanne, Belper's Post Office Manager and with her team. It is important to bring Ministers to our area so that they can see the services which are important to the local community, and so that they can prioritise levelling up in areas like Belper and the wider Mid Derbyshire constituency going forward.
