Following the terrible news about Derby County FC going into administration, I have written to the Culture Secretary Rt Hon Nadine Dorries MP to ask for the Government’s support in ensuring a suitable buyer is found for our historic club – one of the founder members of the Football League and a true pillar of our community.
I have also sought a meeting with the Chief Executive of the EFL to discuss the difficulties at the club and request that Derby fans are not unfairly punished.
As one of Derby’s MPs, I know how much the football club means to our community, and I will do all I can to continue to support the process to find a suitable buyer for DCFC.
