Marriage and Civil Partnerships (Minimum Age) Bill

The new year is an opportunity to set out our goals for the 12 months ahead.

So, here are four of my priorities in 2022:

  1. Marriage Bill – ending child marriage in this country to safeguard children’s futures, through my Marriage and Civil Partnerships (Minimum Age) Bill
  2. Great British Railways – bring the HQ of GBR to Derby, as the most appropriate home of our railway industry
  3. City of Culture – help Derby’s bid for the 2025 competition to be the UK City of Culture – including the World Heritage site in Mid Derbyshire
  4. End trophy hunting imports to the UK and pressing the Government for swift action through the Animals Abroad Bill.

I will be pushing for action in all of these key areas over the course of this year – making Mid Derbyshire a better and more prosperous place for all of my constituents.
