It was a pleasure to meet with members of the team at Asda Spondon this week to discuss their apprenticeship scheme. Asda has 500 apprentices across the UK, and I met four of them in Spondon all at different stages of their careers. Apprenticeships are not just for school leavers, and I was delighted to see this demonstrated here in Spondon, at which the apprentices I met boasted over forty years of combined service with the company – testament to Asda’s programme of improvement for members of their staff.
