My bill to end child marriage passed its Second Reading in Parliament last month, taking us one step closer to ending this harmful practice and safeguarding children’s futures.
The Marriage and Civil Partnerships (Minimum Age) Bill will continue its progress through Parliament in the New Year, and is supported by the Government and by a coalition of cross-party MPs. I am hopeful therefore that the legislation will be in place in Spring 2022.
