I am pleased to join almost 100 MPs supporting the creation of a new statue to commemorate Dame Vera Lynn.

The late Dame Vera personified the spirit of Great Britain during the Second World War, and worked tirelessly for veterans, disabled children and cancer sufferers until her death in 2020.

Just 3% of our statues commemorate great women, and with money for memorials unveiled in the Chancellor’s Budget earlier this year, I am happy to support this campaign.
