I was absolutely delighted to receive this letter from the Transport Secretary, Mark Harper, following my question in the House of Commons.
The Government has agreed to support funding for ten trains in total, meaning that Alstom can now maintain capacity at their site until future HS2 work is due to come in.
Great news for jobs and the city’s rail industry, including the supply chain on which it relies in Derbyshire.
