Earlier this month, I visited the Duffield Dynamo girls’ football tournament. I met with the U10s, and spoke with some of the many volunteers who dedicate their free time to arranging this fantastic competition each year.
Several girls’ teams from across Derbyshire took part, with both a Cup and a Plate competition for the teams to try to win.
I am a keen advocate for grassroots football, and I am delighted to see so many girls playing football. It is very important for young people to be so active, and being part of a team promotes physical, social and mental wellbeing.
It is fantastic to see how Duffield Dynamo has grown over the years to now incorporate so many local boys and girls, and I was pleased to be able to support them in their home competition.
