On Monday 8th April I visited Allestree Pharmacy to meet Sairah Hameed, the Pharmacy Manager. Since February, community pharmacies have been able to prescribe medicines for seven new conditions for the first time. As a result, 10 million GP appointments are set to be saved by next winter. Our pharmacies, like the one in Allestree, are vital community lifelines and I strongly encourage everyone to make use of their newly improved offer. The seven new conditions are:
- Sinusitis
- Sore throat
- Earache
- Infected insect bites
- Impetigo
- Shingles
- Uncomplicated urinary tract infestions (UTIs) in women.
