I visited the Ecclesbourne School to talk to Student Council representatives across all year groups as part of UK Parliament Week. I began my career in Politics thorough my own children being at Ecclesbourne and my campaign to save the 6th form.
I spoke to the pupils about my work within the constituency, how I enjoy visiting schools and businesses, and how it is a privilege to be an MP. The pupils asked an interesting variety of questions including about the recent flooding in Duffield, what the Government is doing to help climate change, my views on the state of Belper Mills, and whether I enjoyed attending the State Opening of Parliament. Which I did!
