I believe it is so important that we continue to remember the lives of brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for us to enjoy peace and freedom today.
Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day are crucial opportunities to ensuring their memories are not forgotten.
In Westminster, I planted a wooden cross with a poppy in New Palace Yard for the fallen servicemen and women of Mid Derbyshire. I attended the Royal British Legion’s moving Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall just before Remembrance Sunday. With Luke Gardiner, Mid Derbyshire’s new Parliamentary candidate, I laid a wreath of poppies at Duffield’s war memorial during their Sunday morning Act of Remembrance.
