The long Easter Bank Holiday is a perfect opportunity for a day out in Mid-Derbyshire so I thought I would post my ideas of fun things to do in Mid-Derbyshire for under a tenner.
Outdoors
Walk off the sunday lunch or simply head out to enjoy some green space in Allestree Park or head for a stroll through the picturesque Belper River Gardens with its views over the historic Derwent Valley Mills.
With the Kids
There a some great options for the family including Bluebells Dairy & Ice Cream Farm Shop who are hosting an Ice Cream Easter Trail on Friday 25th March-17th April, 10.30am-3.30pm.
Markeaton Park is another gem in the Mid-Derbyshire crown and the Mundy Play Centre which has lots of activities for the kids.
If the weather turns bad there is Chuckletbutties Indoor Soft Play Centre in Belper
Shopping
A stroll through the historic Belper High Street which was awarded the prestigious title of ‘Best High Street in the UK’ in the Great British High Street Award’s 2014.
Markeaton Craft Village. I visited Markeaton Craft Village for Small Business Saturday and the variety of shops and crafts on offer make it a worthwhile place to visit just to see what is being created. The Orangery Cafe on site also provides refreshments and it is on the edge of Markeaton Park as well.
However you decide to spend your Easter, I wish you a pleasant holiday.
