Pauline Latham OBE MP is delighted by the announcement that the Scout Association is launching a campaign, A Million Hands, to assist charities focused on dementia, disability, mental wellbeing and resilience, and clean water and sanitation.
The ambitious campaign will see the Scouts partner with some of the UK’s biggest charities including Mind, The Alzheimer’s Society, Wateraid, Guide Dogs for the Blind and more.
The Scout Association will be joined at the launch of the scheme on 8th October 2015 by Chief Scout, Bear Grylls, who will be discussing the importance of the partnership, and Charities Minister, Mr Robert Wilson MP.
Pauline Latham said:
“It is fantastic to hear that young people will be taking time to volunteer and assist the crucial work carried out by these charities.
I am sure everyone will want to join me in thanking the Scouts for their contribution and their help will make a tremendous difference to those affected by these serious issues.”
