I was delighted to welcome Morley Primary School to Parliament this week, where they were learning about the Houses of Parliament and the role that MPs play in creating laws and scrutinising the work of the government.
I was pleased to meet with the pupils and teachers and answer their questions about Mid Derbyshire’s representation in Parliament. In particular, I was very pleased to answer many questions about my Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Act 2022, which came into force earlier this year.
Morley Primary School were also taken on a tour of Parliament, visiting the House of Commons and House of Lords, as well as Central Lobby and the Royal Gallery.
If your school would like a tour of Parliament, my office would be happy to put you in touch with the education department in Westminster who can help to arrange a school trip.
