I welcome £2,880 funding from the Government to transform sports facilities in Mid Derbyshire, aiming to get more people active and to nurture future sporting talent.
Facilities in Belper and Borrowash will benefit from the funding on this occasion, as part of the Government’s £300 million UK-wide capital investment in sports facilities. This investment fund focuses specifically on increasing participation amongst underrepresented groups in sport, like women and girls, and those with a disability.
Sport helps to deliver huge mental health and wellbeing benefits, and has knock-on effects on improving the health of the nation and helping to cut NHS waiting lists.
