I have held meetings with key agencies in the aftermath of Storms Babet and Ciarán.
I led three sessions in Breadsall, Belper, and Duffield to discuss the preparation and responses that were available across Mid Derbyshire for the areas affected. We are bound to see more flooding in the future as climate change continues. This makes it so important to take lessons from these events to ensure we are better prepared and protected, and ready to respond in the future.
I appreciate how hard our local community worked to rescue and support people during these floods, and I anticipate that we will be better prepared for the next one.
