Pauline Latham OBE MP met with, and extended her support to, a group of local Christian Aid workers after one of her recent ‘Meet Your MP’ events on Friday 20th January in Duffield. After the event, in which she met constituents, explained her busy schedule, and took questions for an hour and a half on a variety of local and national matters, she spoke to staff from the charity and expressed her support for the valuable work they do.
Commenting on the event, Pauline Latham said:
“I was delighted to meet with workers from Christian Aid and offer them my support. The charity does a wonderful job in helping to eradicate poverty across the globe and help people – regardless of their faith – and I would like to offer personal congratulations to them and their fellow staff on the fantastic work that they do. Mid Derbyshire has an extremely proud history of working with and for charities and that legacy has been further strengthened by these hardworking employees.
I am pleased as well that the ‘Meet Your MP’ event seemed to be a success, as I was engaged in the typical vigorous questioning with constituents on a variety of different subjects. In addition, I relish the opportunity to tell residents about how I am working for Mid Derbyshire, as well as demystify the process around what it is MPs actually do all day”.
